High School!

Hey everyone, sorry for the lack of posts. In two days, it'll be high school! *gasp* A new school, brand new teachers, new students, high school.

Anyways, I'm still working on my summer reading assignment: reading a book called Silas Marner and writing an essay on the light and dark imagery it contains and how it develops the theme, mood and characters, and reading Great Expectations and taking notes on the theme, characters, plot, and literary devices. *sigh* Still working.

That's it for now! I'll try to post more often, but high school will be very busy!

Book Chat: Palace of Mirrors

Hey everyone! Recently, I went to this special eye doctor place and the waiting was terrible. My dad and I spent around three hours waiting just to see the doctor. To make the most of my time, I started reading one of the books my sister checked out from the library, which is called Palace of Mirrors by Margaret Peterson Haddix, who also wrote Double Identity.

Palace of Mirrors is about a girl named Cecelia, who is secretly a princess, but is pretending to be a poor farm girl. The royal family is in danger and the evil forces already killed her mother and father. The princess on the throne is actually just a decoy. Cecelia, along with her best friend Harper travel to the capital so Cecelia can claim the throne. However, everything is not what it seems and the tale of twists and adventure begins. I really enjoyed this book and it was a very easy read. =]

Summer Vacation!

Whoohooooooooooo! Summer vacation. I'm going to really miss middle school though. Tons of fun memories and good times. Lots of laughs. Ahhhhhh, all my friends and teachers. =[ boo.

Anyways, its officially summer vacation! I'm so excited. Now I'll actually have time to do stuff, like bake cookies, paint my nails, write, read, draw, ect. The list goes on and on. Stick around for book reviews, random information, pictures, and other things that I do. =]

So guys, what are you doing for summer vacation?

Seven Days Left of School!

Hey everyone!

Well, there are exactly seven days left of school. (not including weekends) And, you would think that we wouldn't really do anything since school is almost over, but we're having a TON of work. I'm sick right now and tomorrow will be my first day back...and I have a lot of work to make up. That includes an entire novel, a Social Studies project and taking two tests. Wonderful, isn't it? I'm so stressed.

Anyways, I'm so excited for summer vacation and for the stress to just be lifted off of my shoulders. I can't wait. =]

My Favorite Movie Ever: Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon

Hey everyone, in case you didn't know, I hate fairytales because their endings are so fake. Fairy godmothers and handsome princes don't exist in real life. The only Disney fairytale I like is Mulan because she's strong and courageous and she can do anything. =]

Anyways, today I'm posting about my favorite movie, Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon. For anyone that hasn't seen it, you HAVE to watch it! It takes place in olden day China and there's a lot of cool fighting and flying. However, the story goes deeper and leaves you in awe. Be prepared to start the waterworks! That's all I'm going to say, but watch the movie!

Trip to Gettysburg

Hey everyone. =]

On Monday, I went to Gettysburg! It was a school field trip. We stayed overnight overnight and came back on Tuesday. While we were there, we’re went to All Stars, which is pretty much a fun sports place and also went on some tour of Gettysburg. In my opinion, we’re basically just hung out at Gettysburg, and didn't actually learn anything, but that’s okay with me. =]

The first day, Monday, we watched this movie at the Visitor's Center and then went to All Stars. At All Stars, I went on the Go-Carts like a billion times. They are the BEST. Later, we went to the hotel and got settled into our rooms. Then, my friend Lydia had a fever, which was really bad. Well, after that, we watched Paul Blart: Mall Cop, instead of going on the Ghost Tour. Lydia had to go home and we had to switch rooms because they didn't want us getting sick too. The next day, we went on this really boring bus tour. Overall, the trip to Gettysburg was pretty fun. =]

One last thing. You know how they made us switch hotel rooms because they didn't want us to get sick? Well, guess what. I'm currently sick...and I took the Geometry Final with a fever. That's it for now, byeeeeee.

Nail Polish Craze

Hey everyone. =] Well, I made a new blog, just for nail polish!

http://nailpolishcraze.blogspot.com/

I didn't want this one to just be on nail polish. Randomness the Blog is...random. Hahaha, anyways, Nail Polish Craze has pictures and info on all things Nail Polish. <3

Randomness the Blog will have information on books, movies, activities, and anything else interesting that's going on in my life. =]

Stick around. Sorry for not posting a lot, there's a lot of work, plus the fact that I procrastinate a lot. For example, right now. I'm supposed to be writing a letter. Going to actually go work on that now.

Dumplings!

Hey everyone! Today we had a family friend over. We call him Lao Li Ba Ba. Okay, well, everytime he comes to visit, he brings a TON of ice cream. He's so awesome. =]

Because we're having a barbeque tomorrow, my mom was going crazy cleaning the house so I had to make all the huen duin (the dumplings in soup). It was really fun and flour-y...and messy. Plus, I even had to cook them all and knowing me, that was a great feat. I'm not good with dangerous things. For example, fire. And boiling water. Not good.
Here are some pictures of the huen duin I made. =] On the picture on the right, the dumplings on the left my sister made. (the ones that aren't lined up) I made the dumplings in the star and in the three rows.

Memorial Day Weekend

Hey everyone! =] It's a long weekend.

I'm so relieved because I can relax and there's no homework! *gasp* (In case you didn't know, I'm in 8th grade). And guess what else. There are only 20 more days of school. However, there's the Hershey Park trip, Gettysburg trip, Dorney trip, and the PATTERNS picnic. After all of those, there's only about 15 days left of school!

I'm super excited, but at the same time, I'm super sad. =[. Middle school is passing so fast. On the last day of school, I'll bawl my eyes out. =*[.

Anyways, it's Memorial Weekend after all, so we're having a giant barbeque with tons of other Chinese families. On Monday, I'm hanging out with the azn crew and then I might go shopping afterwards.

What about you guys?

Nail Polish Wednesday

Well, it isn't Wednesday, but I did my nails Wednesday but was procrastinating and didn't make a post until today, which is Thursday.

Anyways, I love Nicole by Opi, which you can find at stores like Target, or Walmart and other stores. I get mine from Target. They have great colors, but they don't get much of the credit they deserve.

The polish I used is called It's Up To You and its this rich dark blue color. At first, I was worried that it would be super dark, but it turned out to be such a beautiful color. It's one of my favorite blues now.

As you can tell, I'm not the best photographer so I took a billion photos to try to capture the right color...and it didn't really work out.

Book Chat: Kiki Strike Inside The Shadow City

Hey everyone.

Well, I just read Kiki Strike Into the Shadow City by Kirsten Miller. In a way, it reminds me of Ocean's Eleven, except with kids. Its basically five teens that each have their own special ability. They find a secret city underneath New York City. It takes them into an adventure filled with hitmen, criminals, spoiled brats, and rats. Tons and tons of rats. The rest you'll just have to read to find out.

I really liked it, because in a way, it gave my an inspiration that kids can do amazing things. Or, maybe I'm just crazy. Either way, it was a great book. =]
